Seeking information on an woman named Eva Williams aka Eva Limon, living with her husband Ramon Limon in St. Paul around 1927/28. Both came from St. Joseph Mo. on the Train and was living by the train tracks until told to move. Eva came to St. Paul with her husband Ramon and her daughter Viola Hartshorn and grandchildren Emanual Roseby, Adolph Roseby, Marion Roseby, Corinne Hartshorn and Andrew Hartshorn.
The story goes that one day Eva was arrested and taken to jail for prostitution and was never seen again. Another story has her being drowned in one of the lakes. Another has her being thrown off the Robert Street Bridge.

EKMAN, Claes Magnus (1854 - ?) and wife Augusta, married in Ramsey County, probably St. Paul, during 1880s
I am looking for any record or mention of the marriage of Claes Magnus EKMAN, born 18 Jan 1854 in Växjö (Vexio, Wexio) Sweden, emigrated to US in the 1880s, to a woman named Augusta, but other than her first name we know nothing about her. I have a wedding photograph labelled "Claes and Augusta", and judging from her dress the time was in the mid 1880s. The photographer's studio was Palmquist & Jurgens, corner Seventh and Cedar Streets, St. Paul. Claes was the third of 8 brothers (there was one sister) who emigrated to Minnesota between November 1879 (when my great grandfather, brother number 2, arrived) and November/December 1887 when the last members of the family, including the parents, arrived.
I know that Claes had died by 1910 but have no idea where, and that he had been a sergeant in the Swedish Army (where he served in the Kronoberg Regiment, as had his father, eldest brother, grandfather and two great grandfathers) before he left Sweden for America. However, I know nothing of his time in America and can find no records on the Internet of him or of his wife Augusta -- they do not appear in the Minnesota Death Certificate Index, for instance, nor in the city directories that are available online (1889 - 1891). Other members of the family were (in order of birth): Gustaf EKMAN, Carl Nils EKMAN, Claes, Olof Henrik (Henry) EKMAN, Johan Eduard EKMAN, Emma EKMAN (married C. Gustav NILSSON), Ernst Wilhelm EKMAN, August EKMAN and Knut Otto EKMAN. Parents were Nils Olsson EKMAN (1818 - 1888) and Britta Katarina Carlsdotter (1828 - 1899). ANY help would be greatly appreciated. If you are related, I am happy to share all the information I have on the family.

Frank is the son of Alfred Turgeon of PA. Frank was born in Clarion PA. I believe Frank was in St. Paul by 1900. I have the 1910 census and 1920 census. His second wife's name was Elizabeth or "Bessie". First wife may have been Bertha. Frank and Elizabeth took a trip to Hawaii in 1930. I found record of their return in Febuary 1930 in San Francisco. 2/14/30--2/19/30. I think the first wife died in 8/1909. I think Frank died in 7/30/1937. Sons Burtis and Henry and Paul were in St. Paul with their wives in 1930 on separate censuses. Burtis was Married to a Marie S. and had a 4 yr old daughter Marie E., Henry was married to Rose M., Paul was married to Delores. I think Burtis and Marie went to Los angeles CA at some point. Burtis/Bertis and Henry/Harry were hotel managers. Any info would be GREATLY appriciated!!!

Hi. We are looking for any information on the Knute P. Myhre family. Knute was born about 1844 in Norway. His wife's name was Nicolena Neilson who also was born about 1844 in Norway. They were married about 1867 in Norway and had at least 6 children that we know of. Four of their names are Agnes, Nora, Ella, and John Charles (my great-grandpa).
John Charles Myhre was born in 1868 in Norway and married Sophie Hellmann who was born in 1871 in New York. Sophie's father owned the Hellmann & Bischoff Tannery located in St. Paul. We have a picture of it after it was blown down by a cyclone on May 1, 1887. That is about all the information we have about the Hellmann family.
According to the census and directory we have found out that the Myhre family had lived on Atwater Street in St. Paul. Both Knute and his son, John, were bricklayers.
We would greatly appreciate any information any one could provide about the Knute P. Myhre family and the Hellmann family. We have reached the end of the information we have. Thanks in advance for any help you can give us.

Seeking information on my grandfather, Milan Ellsworth Babcock, his wife, Fanny Page, and their children. They resided in St. Paul and had 9 children there. My father(Milan), told me his father was in real estate, traveling all over the U.S. dealing in large tracts of land.
Fanny Page was from Lake Argentine, Michigan, where her father owned a resort. Children: Cora, Donna, Marie, Hortense (Hazel), Vern Fern, Gladys, Milan (Bud), Earl and Neva Dee. The older girls were into ice skating and belonged to a skating organization. My father, b. 1908, said there was a newspaper article on him when he was about 7 or 8 years of age. There was an annual footrace between St Paul and Minneapolis which crossed a bridge between the two cities. He evidently was wearing a heavy overcoat and keeping up with the racers while running on the sidewalk. My Aunt, Gladys, played the organ in silent movie theatres, and Donna ran away to the carnival at an early age. Any information on these family members would be sincerely appreciated. Marian Lahr
Rick Hendrickson 9/Oct/2004 Am looking for information on the Maurice and Annora Oconnor family. They also went by the name Connors. They were from the Newry area (Freeborn county), but moved to St. Paul sometime in the 1920's, before the 1930 census. Maurice was born 7-4-1875, and Annora (Herron) was born in 1878. I have heard stories from relatives that they had as many as 14 children, and that all 14 children and mom and dad lived in St. Paul during the depression. The 1930 census does not support this however. The 1930 census only lists Maurice O'Connor and three daughters: Bernice (b.1907) Margaret (b.1910) and Laura (b.1918) and Maurice is listed as 52 years old. I am looking for the children's names, birthdates, death dates (if they died back then) or any other information you can share.

I am looking for any information on Paul Neveux or Neveaux (b Oct 1884 in Minnesota). His parents, Joseph and Celeste (Sally) nee Lavallee, were in Centerville, MN in 1880 but are in St. Paul in 1900 (59 Atwater Street) along with other children Christine (later married Pris Peloquin, lived in Big Fork in 1910, lived in Forest Lake in 1920), Annie and Geneva. Another older sister Marie married George Groetsch and in 1930 lived at 946 Aurora Ave in St. Paul. Sometime between 1900 and 1920, Paul married Agnes Docherty and had children, Grace (my husband's grandmother), Dorothy, Curtis and Jean. By 1920 he was not listed as part of the household at 34 Lawson Street. By 1930, Agnes remarried to Hans Anderson and Grace, Curtis and Jean lived with them at 449 Hamline Ave in St. Paul. No one in my husband's family knows what happened to Paul. It was only said that he was an alcoholic. There is not a death certificate for him at MNHS.org. Any information would be welcome.

He was born in Iowa in 1849 and his wife's name was Kathryn (Bickel) and they had two sons and two daughters (would like to know their names as well). He built the first gasoline tractor in 1892 and formed the Waterloo Gasoline Traction Engine Company, which was later sold to a fella named John Deere. My Dad tells the story of this guy being related to us (our last name has many spellings). Any information on John or his decendants would be a great help. Thank you for your time.

On April 19, 1910 my great-uncle, Charles Wilkinson, was in St. Paul as part of a small traveling circus. Does anyone have access to a St. Paul paper for April of 1910? I'm looking for the name of the circus, and I think it would be advertised in the paper. I have access to a large genealogy library (no Minnesota papers!), and would be glad to return the favor.
Thank you!

My great great grandparents George and Bertha (Vokelsohn) Reisman emigrated to Ramsey, MN from Russia in the late 1800's or very early 1900's. They had three children. Joseph Reisman b. Nov. 15, 1886 (Brody, Austria) was the oldest. He attended school in Ramsey and later went on to college in MN and became a pharmacist. He married Jenny (aka Rochel) Silverman and moved to Chicago. His sister Bertha Reisman b.Nov. 11, 1903 may have been born in America. Sam Reisman b. Nov. 11, 1903 was born in America.
